Chief Financial Officer – PE-Backed Buy & Build SaaS | Governance, Risk & Compliance |
We are partnering with a private-equity-backed, high-growth SaaS platform operating in the Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) market. The business generates approximately £65m of revenue, has a strong recurring revenue base, and is executing an active buy-and-build strategy to create a scaled, global software leader.
Following recent follow-on PE investment, the business is entering its next phase of growth; focused on platform integration, operational discipline, and scalable financial ifunction. We are hiring a CFO to partner closely with the CEO (Founder) and Board to professionalize the finance function, support acquisition-led growth, and strengthen commercial decision-making across the group.
The Opportunity
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board during a period of accelerated growth
- Support investment decision-making, capital allocation, and long-term value creation
- Build and lead a scalable finance function capable of supporting a multi-entity SaaS group
- Bring clarity and commercial rigor to pricing, unit economics, and performance management
Growth & M&A
- Lead the financial side of acquisitions, from evaluation and diligence through to integration
- Build a repeatable approach to buying and integrating businesses
- Work with the leadership team on organic growth and product investment choices
- Make sure the business is financially ready to scale through acquisition
Cash, Forecasting & Insight
- Own forecasting, cashflow, and scenario planning
- Keep clear visibility on cash runway, leverage, and headroom
- Produce clear, decision-useful reporting for the Board and investors across ARR, margins, unit economics, and key SaaS metrics
Commercial Finance
- Provide hands-on financial leadership in a subscription-based SaaS business
- Improve margins, cost control, and operating leverage as the business grows
- Partner with sales, product, and operations on pricing, deal economics, and profitability
Reporting, Systems & Controls
- Ensure timely, accurate reporting across the group
- Own audits, tax, and statutory reporting, working closely with external advisers
- Improve finance systems, data quality, and integration following acquisitions
- Put consistent controls and reporting in place across the platform
Leading the Function
- Build and develop a strong, scalable finance team
- Embed financial discipline and commercial thinking across the business
- Be a trusted member of the leadership team during a period of change and growth
What We’re Looking For
- Proven CFO experience in a PE-backed SaaS or recurring-revenue software business
- Strong buy-and-build experience, including M&A execution and post-acquisition integration
- Track record of scaling finance functions in complex, multi-entity environments
- Experience working closely with PE sponsors and Boards
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, change-driven environments
- Exposure to US and/or international markets preferred
