Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our leadership team. The CFO will serve as a key advisor to the CEO and executive team, responsible for driving financial performance, long-term planning, and operational efficiency across our national automotive wholesale business. This is a remote role with up to 50% travel, primarily to regional offices, distribution centers, and key business partner locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- - Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with overall company goals.
- - Serve as a critical member of the executive leadership team, helping to shape business decisions through financial insight.
- - Lead initiatives such as capital planning, M&A evaluation, and strategic investments to support growth.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- - Direct all budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning efforts.
- - Deliver insightful monthly and quarterly financial reporting, with clear commentary and risk analysis.
- - Monitor key financial and operational metrics to drive performance improvements.
Accounting, Compliance & Risk, Cash & Treasury Management
- - Oversee accounting operations and financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP.
- - Lead cash flow management, including working capital, inventory finance, and vendor terms.
Operational & Cross-Functional Leadership & Development
- - Collaborate with operations, sales, IT and other functional teams to align financial and business objectives.
- - Lead financial systems integration and digital transformation initiatives across the finance function.
- - Drive continuous improvement in internal controls and financial processes.
- - Build and mentor a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- - Champion a culture of transparency, performance, and accountability.
Travel & Work Environment:
This position is remote with flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S.
Up to 50% travel is required to company locations, vendor sites, and leadership meetings across the country.
Qualifications:
- - Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- - Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 5+ years in a CFO or senior financial role.
- - Prior experience in the automotive wholesale, distribution, or manufacturing sector strongly preferred.
- - Deep experience with GAAP, financial systems, and compliance.
- - Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- - Proficiency with ERP systems and financial modeling tools.
