Chord Specialty Dental Partners (“Chord”) is a leading pediatric specialty dental platform operating 60+ practices in six states, primarily in the eastern United States with a comprehensive service offering that includes general pediatric dentistry, orthodontics, and oral surgery.
The CFO will serve as a trusted strategic partner to the executive leadership team and a key liaison to the organization’s lending partners. Reporting directly to the CEO, this leader will elevate and evolve the finance organization and its supporting infrastructure, ensuring that financial systems, business processes, and long-term strategy are tightly aligned to enable a high-growth platform. The ideal candidate will inherit and lead a capable, motivated team and continue building upon a strong, well-established financial foundation.
Responsibilities
Financial Leadership
- Provide strategic financial leadership across the organization by partnering with the CEO, executive team, and Board to set financial direction, drive earnings and revenue growth, and guide the company toward transformational value creation. Strengthen financial infrastructure by enhancing reporting structures, developing clear KPIs and performance metrics, linking operational and financial performance, and ensuring integrity, clarity, and accountability in all financial communications.
- Serve as the primary financial liaison to external stakeholders including investors, bankers, lenders, and the Board, clearly communicating operating performance, capital structure, progress against revenue and EBITDA targets, and capital requirements to support acquisitions and future growth. Leverage the capabilities of a talented finance team to deliver insight, optimize equity value, and support the company’s high-growth strategy.
Operations
- Drive operational and financial excellence by deeply understanding the company’s economic and operational drivers, developing and managing performance metrics, and equipping leadership with real-time data for informed decision-making. Ensure integration processes, systems, and rigor are in place to support ongoing growth and market expansion.
- Strengthen cross-functional alignment by building strong partnerships across finance, strategy, development, and operations, and by leveraging the company’s business intelligence and IT systems to enhance data-driven decision-making and support strategic initiatives.
Growth & Strategy
- Drive strategic growth and value creation by partnering with the CEO, SVP of Development & Strategy, and investors to expand EBITDA through acquisitions and selective de novo growth. Provide corporate finance expertise, including multi-year financial modeling, capital allocation, cash flow management, and risk oversight to support the execution of the company’s strategic plan.
- Lead acquisition and expansion initiatives by supporting deal diligence, underwriting, integration, and synergy realization. Guide the expansion of service lines, optimize operational and financial performance, and ensure that all growth initiatives deliver strong returns while navigating the complexities of a private equity-backed healthcare consolidator.
Scale
- Build an infrastructure of high-performing teams that meet business objectives while maintaining best-in-class execution to support/sustain growth.
- Lead the evaluation, design, and execution of the optimal financial organization for this high-growth platform. This includes ensuring appropriate people/processes/systems, accurate reporting, and cash management to scale a growing multi-site provider-based healthcare services business.

- Foster a culture of accountability and operational excellence by emphasizing transparency, data-driven decision-making, and proactive, process-oriented problem-solving to drive profitability across the organization.
- Build and develop high-performing teams by mentoring and training staff and implementing the systems and processes necessary to efficiently support the demands of a growing, dynamic business.
Qualifications
- 5+ years as a tenured CFO in a PE-backed multi-site/state provider-based healthcare services consolidator. Previous experience working with private equity investors while driving performance and accountability will be necessary.
- Strong working knowledge of debt capital markets and understanding of the levers that drive financial performance in a leveraged environment.
- Solid interpersonal skills to effectively share, translate, and engage the organization in key financial drivers providing meaningful commentary, trends, and actions internally and externally.
- Technical corporate finance expertise highly analytical, deep numbers-based understanding of businesses, skill-building and maintaining complex financial models to drive performance, capable of managing complex cap tables, interim rollover equity raises and managing capital projects underwriting.
- Served as a critical financial executive at a company that has grown between $15M to $50M EBITDA through organic and inorganic growth. Proven track record in a hands-on and fast-paced environment.
- Previous acquisition experience, including leading or supporting financial diligence, operational analysis, and integration centered around people, processes, and systems.
- Strong operations finance experience and cross-functional partnering experience collaborating with teams across multiple locations, with a keen ability and passion for day-to-day operations and adding value daily.
- Ability to travel to Chord’s satellite home support office in Pennsylvania with frequency to support the financial team members located there.
- Career progression in FP&A and operational track. Prior experience in investment banking, private equity, and/or public company corporate finance is preferred.
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in accounting/finance/business required.
- CPA is preferred but not required.
