We are building the first AI-first infrastructure company for medium-to-long-term rentals, a system designed to govern how people relocate across borders, powered by intelligence, trust, and automation.
We are currently finalizing our corporate structure and product foundation while preparing for the Seed round. Financial architecture is central to this transformation, and we are seeking a CFO to help us strengthen, scale, and defend Lif3away’s foundation.
The Role
We are looking for a part-time Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with senior-level experience in venture-backed companies, ideally with exposure to fast-scaling startups or Big Tech environments.
As our CFO, you will be a key member of the executive team during a high-stakes fundraising and execution window. You will work directly with the CEO to ensure our financial strategy, investor materials, and fundraising processes are robust, defensible, and aligned with long-term goals.
This is an equity-only role during the pre-funding phase. You must be mission-aligned, highly responsive, and comfortable operating in an early-stage, high-intensity environment.
Upon successful fundraising, this role will transition into a full-time CFO position based in San Francisco, with a competitive salary and continued equity participation.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as lead financial advisor to the CEO and executive team
• Lead financial readiness for investor due diligence (modeling, decks, metrics, financials)
• Refine and validate our financial model, growth assumptions, cost structure, and revenue projections
• Structure and support fundraising documents (SAFE, convertible notes, cap table, equity grants)
• Develop and oversee core financial infrastructure (forecasting, budgeting, cash flow planning)
• Collaborate with legal and operations to maintain compliance and financial governance
• Monitor unit economics, capital efficiency, and strategic allocation of resources
• Participate in investor calls and support closing the Seed round with financial credibility
What We’re Looking For
• 8+ years of financial leadership experience, including as CFO, VP Finance
• Experience in venture-backed startups, ideally in SaaS, PropTech, FinTech, or AI-driven businesses
• Strong understanding of equity financing (SAFE, priced rounds, convertible notes)
• Skilled in building and defending financial models, investor decks, and fundraising strategy
• Familiar with cap table tools (Pulley, Carta), Delaware/California C-Corp structures, and startup compliance
• Analytical and strategic mindset, paired with pragmatism and execution speed
• Comfortable working as a fractional executive, highly accountable and independent
Nice to Have
• Experience with multi-market operations or international expansion
• Prior participation in successful Seed or Series A fundraising ($10M+ rounds)
• Familiarity with investor CRM tools and dataroom platforms (Affinity, DocSend, etc.)
• Passion for AI-driven transformation and category creation
