The Opportunity
The CFO will provide strategic financial leadership, overseeing all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, grants accounting, revenue cycle, and financial reporting. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. The CFO, along with the CEO and senior staff, develops and implements financial plans to support the organization's growth objectives. The CFO is a key strategic partner to the CEO and Board of Directors, evaluating long-range planning, exploring new programs, and navigating the evolving healthcare landscape.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis.
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the finance and accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Lead the annual audit process and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors on strategic financial planning and decision-making.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external auditors, grantors, and funding sources.
- Provide timely and accurate financial analysis to inform strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
- Maintain and enhance internal control policies and procedures to safeguard financial assets.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting or related field is required. Masters degree in finance or accounting and/or CPA designation is preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in health care financial management.
- FQHC/CHC and nonprofit industry experience is preferred.
- Experience with health care billing, federal grants management, and budget management required.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrates a high degree of initiative, judgement, discretion, and decision-making ability.
- Skill in identifying and resolving accounting and financial management issues.
- Demonstrates leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with a wide range of software platforms to oversee the financial management of organization.
