The CFO is responsible for the overall financial leadership of Greenwood County Hospital, including fiscal planning, revenue cycle management, budgeting, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and working closely with the Board of Trustees, the CFO will serve as a strategic advisor and steward of our hospital’s resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and audits.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state healthcare financial regulations, including Critical Access Hospital (CAH) cost reporting and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement.
- Oversee key departments including Revenue Cycle, Patient Billing, Accounts Payable, Materials Management, and Health Information Management (HIM).
- Analyze and present financial reports to the CEO and Board of Trustees to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
- Collaborate with department heads to develop operating and capital budgets aligned with organizational goals.
- Monitor cash flow, manage investments, and support cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality care.
- Lead and mentor finance and administrative staff to ensure operational excellence and professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required.
- CPA and/or Master’s degree (MBA or MHA) strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience in a healthcare setting, with experience in a Critical Access Hospital or rural healthcare environment highly desired.
- Strong working knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, cost reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with healthcare financial systems, accounting software, and EHR integration.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
