CFO Recruit is partnering with a growing, privately owned services company in Salt Lake City, Utah. We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Chief Financial Officer for a mid sized business. This is a unique opportunity for a finance leader to play a pivotal role in shaping and executing growth strategies, both organic and acquisitive, while driving operational and financial excellence across the organization. As a key leader within the business, the CFO will oversee the accounting and finance function and partner closely with the executive team and owners. We are seeking a CFO who can contribute to value creation and business growth through insightful analysis and recommendations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the company’s overall financial strategy, planning, and analysis to support growth objectives and operational performance.
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, treasury, and reporting.
- Deliver insightful, timely, and actionable management information to guide strategic decision-making.
- Modernize financial systems and processes, implementing tools and technologies to enhance reporting, analytics, and efficiency.
- Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance across a multi-location business.
- Partner with the founders and executive team on business strategy, capital allocation, and long-term planning.
- Manage risk, banking relationships, insurance, and corporate governance to ensure financial stability and scalability.
- Drive cost efficiency and margin improvement initiatives without compromising service quality or customer experience.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, building capability and succession depth in a lean, hands-on environment.
- Coordinate with external advisors (tax, audit, legal) to ensure accurate and timely regulatory filings.
- Evaluate and support M&A activity, new market entry, and expansion strategies as needed.
- Review and optimize financing to support growth initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to ownership, providing data-driven recommendations with a commercial perspective.
Experience/skills:
- Proven CFO or senior finance leadership experience in a multi-site, multi-state business, ideally in hospitality, real estate, retail, consumer services or construction.
- Strong expertise in financial planning & analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and metrics-driven decision-making.
- Experience leading system upgrades, ERP implementation, or financial process transformation.
- Commercially savvy, with the ability to partner across operations, marketing, and HR to align business objectives.
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing high-performing finance teams in high-volume, distributed operations.
- Comfortable working in an owner-led or founder-driven business with an entrepreneurial, fast-paced culture.
The advertized salary serves as a guideline; the final offer will be commensurate with experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $250,000.00 - $300,000.00 per year
