SUMMARY
The CFO is a key member of the senior leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO. This role is responsible for the direction and oversight of all aspects of the company’s financial activity to include financial and investment strategy, accounting, budget, forecasting, and other internal and external financial reporting. This position routinely presents complex financial information to board members, banks and lending institutions, and other key stakeholders.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations of CVRF, its subsidiaries, and partnerships, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management and financial analysis. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records and prepare financial reports for the CEO and Board of Directors.
· Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the CEO and senior leadership to develop and implement strategic plans that align with the organization’s goals. Provide financial insights to guide decision-making and long-term planning. Monitor economic trends, legislative and regulatory changes and advise on business impacts
· Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, monitor performance against budgets, and provide regular updates and analysis to the executive team.
· Investment Analysis and Review: Lead and direct due diligence review of investment opportunities, costs, and risks; oversight of change management and integration of any new acquisitions or investments
· Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
· Team and Corporate Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development, communicate and cooperate with other CVRF teams (operations, programs, board) to further the company mission
· Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess the ability to represent the company in a professional manner. Bachelor’s Degree in finance, operations management, accounting, or similar field is required, Master’s Degree preferred. Minimum of ten years progressively responsible experience required. Must possess a solid understanding of finance, banking, accounting, business processes, and production management. Significant working experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required. Broad experience with various other software systems preferred. Experience working in commercial fishing, native corporations, not-for-profits, or other CDQ groups is a plus. Must possess an ability to learn and teach others and work well in a team environment. Must be able to communicate complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders. A high regard for accuracy and attention to detail, along with strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines is required.
