At Metropolitan Community College, we’re not just educating students – we are powering dreams, sparking innovation, and building the workforce of tomorrow. To make that happen, we need a financial leader who sees beyond spreadsheets and budgets and understands that every number tells a story and every decision fuels our mission.
We’re searching for a dynamic Vice President for Finance and Administration and Chief Financial Officer (VPFA/CFO) to join our senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our college.

· A change agent who sees opportunity where others see obstacles.
What You’ll Do
· Steward resources with purpose: Ensuring every dollar advances student learning and community impact.
· Lead the College’s financial future: Guiding multi-year strategies, annual and capital budgets, and investment plans that position the College for sustainable growth.
· Deliver clarity and actionable insight: Providing timely financial reporting, forecasts, and executive analysis to the President, Board of Governors, and senior leadership.
· Strengthen operational excellence: Managing cash flow, investments, and assets with strategies that balance stability and innovation.
· Safeguard integrity: Overseeing audit, compliance, and internal control processes to ensure transparency
· Guide resource advocacy: Coordinating quad-county property tax authorization and state funding processes.
· Advance philanthropic partnerships: Providing fiscal leadership to the MCC Foundation and stewarding relationships with major donors.
· Empower a high-performing team: Leading across college Financial Services and other assigned areas.
· Foster trust and accountability: Engaging campus stakeholders and policymakers with transparency.
· Shape transformation: Leading major initiatives, from new campus facilities to bold community partnerships, that expand what’s possible for MCC students.
What You Bring
· Proven leadership at scale: 10+ years of progressive senior leadership experience navigating complex financial landscapes with confidence and vision.
· Expertise in higher education finance: Ideally within public or community colleges, with an understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing open-access institutions.
· Fluency in the tools of the trade: Mastery of GAAP, GASB, financial modeling, and modern ERP platforms (Workday experience a plus).
· A track record of driving change: Demonstrated success in building collaborative teams, fostering innovation, and leading institutions through meaningful transformation.
· Academic grounding, elevated by experience: A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business (master’s preferred), paired with the strategic instincts of a seasoned executive.
