TallSky Consulting is assisting our client, an established and growing Vancouver Island company, with their search for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in Victoria, BC. With a 15+ year history, 50+ employees, and a strong reputation in the construction services sector, our client delivers solutions to construction clients across British Columbia.
Reporting to the owners, the CFO is a key member of our client’s leadership team and is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the organization. This includes timely strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, ensuring regulatory compliance and setting clear role expectations for the finance and accounting team in line with company objectives.
Your financial insights and analysis will guide business decisions as you manage capital structure and working capital, build relationships with banks, investors, and auditors, and ensure the company’s financial health aligns with its strategic objectives. In conjunction with the Controller, you will lead the finance team, drive operational efficiency, and safeguard assets while supporting sustainable growth.

Compensation:
This hybrid position in Victoria, BC, offers a competitive salary of $185,000 – $200,000 plus a comprehensive benefits package and RRSP matching.
Our ideal CFO:
- Bachelors’ degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA designation with a minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior financial management role, and proven experience partnering with executives on strategic initiatives.
- Experience in the construction industry, asset and property management, and IT systems is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Office 365 and financial software including SAGE 50, SAGE Intacct.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, with supervisory and team management experience required.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture after looking through the details.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excels in a collaborative team environment and builds strong, productive relationships.
