Position Summary
The CFO provides executive leadership over all financial functions of the hospital, ensuring sound fiscal policies, financial health, regulatory compliance, and alignment with the hospital’s mission. This role is responsible for strategic financial planning, oversight of budgeting, revenue cycle, accounting, audits, capital investments, and financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field — required.
- Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, or equivalent) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) preferred.
Experience
- Several years (3-5 years) of progressive financial leadership experience in a hospital, health system, or healthcare environment.
- Prior experience with revenue cycle management, reimbursement (Medicare, Medicaid, payer contracts), cost reporting, and audit/compliance in healthcare.
- Experience in budgeting, capital planning, financial modeling, and financial analysis.
- Previous management experience supervising finance, accounting, and billing/revenue cycle teams.

- Excellent verbal and written communication, able to present complex financial data to nonfinancial stakeholders.
- Proficiency with accounting and financial systems (ERP, hospital financial systems).
- Strong analytical skills, familiarity with financial modeling tools, Excel expertise.
- Ability to interpret regulations, statutory requirements, and healthcare reimbursement environment.
