Key Responsibilities For The Chief Financial Officer
- Lead all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, audits, and financial reporting
- Oversee grant compliance, restricted funding, endowment reporting, and nonprofit regulatory requirements
- Direct Human Resources operations, including benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance
- Oversee a stable and lean team of finance professionals including a Controller, Staff Accountant, and AP support
- Partner with executive leadership and the Board on strategic planning, financial analysis, and organizational growth initiatives
- Manage risk, insurance programs, vendor relationships, and key operational support functions
- Ensure strong internal controls, financial systems, and policies that support long-term organizational success
Qualifications For The Chief Financial Officer
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally serving as a CFO or senior finance executive
- Required nonprofit accounting experience with significant grant management
- Strong background in budgeting, audits, IRS Form 990 reporting, and board-level financial presentations
