Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/Senior Accountant, CPA to lead our financial operations and strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate finance, accounting, and financial management, with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing finance team. The CFO will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health of the organization while providing strategic insights to support our growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage corporate accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger accounting.
- Prepare and interpret financial statements, reports, and analyses for executive leadership and the board of directors.
- Develop and implement financial strategies to optimize cash flow and enhance profitability.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights on key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive business decisions.
- Lead audits and ensure accurate regulatory reporting in accordance with applicable laws such as securities law and governmental accounting standards.
- Mentor finance team members to foster professional development and enhance departmental capabilities.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, and investors.
- Oversee tax compliance and planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
Skills
- Proficient in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, accrual accounting, cash flow analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial statement preparation.
- Expertise in corporate finance principles along with experience in public accounting or private equity environments.
- Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
- Excellent analytical skills for account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, auditing, and regulatory reporting.
- Strong understanding of technical accounting issues related to wills, trusts & estate law as well as securities law is beneficial.
- Proven ability to communicate complex financial information clearly through financial report writing and interpretation.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in mentoring finance professionals.
