Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

The Opportunity
We are partnering with a private equity-backed, B2B services business entering an exciting phase of growth. With a proven model and strong backing, the business is embarking on an ambitious buy-and-build strategy to scale both organically and through acquisition.
This is a pivotal appointment, offering the incoming CFO the opportunity to shape the financial strategy, build a best-in-class finance function, and play a key role in value creation ahead of a future exit.
The Role
As CFO, you will work closely with the CEO, Board, and investors to drive performance, support strategic decision-making, and execute the growth agenda.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the financial strategy to support a multi-site, acquisitive growth model
- Partnering with the CEO and PE stakeholders to deliver the value creation plan
- Driving commercial insight and performance across the business
- Leading M&A activity including due diligence, integration, and synergy realisation
- Developing robust financial reporting, controls, and governance frameworks
- Building and scaling a high-performing finance team
- Enhancing systems, processes, and data to support growth
- Preparing the business for a successful exit
The Candidate
We are seeking a high-calibre CFO or Finance Director ready to step into a CFO role within a PE-backed environment.
You will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a private equity-backed or highly leveraged environment
- Strong track record within B2B, service-led businesses
- Experience of buy-and-build strategies and M&A execution
- A commercial mindset with the ability to influence at Board level
- Strong leadership capability with experience building and developing teams
- Gravitas, resilience, and the ability to operate at pace
Previous exit experience is advantageous but not essential.
