Role Summary
The CFO will lead all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, reporting and regulatory compliance (including the Indian Act and the Financial Transparency Act).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a financial strategy aligned with our community goals.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with federal/provincial legislation and Indigenous-governance requirements.
- Lead budget planning, forecasting and cash-flow/investment management.
- Manage external audits and act as liaison with auditors.
- Provide strategic financial counsel to Chief and Council.
- Supervise and support the finance team.
- Maintain integrity and accuracy of financial records and systems.
Qualifications
- Chartered accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) required.
- Minimum 5 years in senior financial management (experience in Indigenous governance or public sector preferred).
- Strong understanding of the Indian Act, Financial Transparency Act, and relevant regulation.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, analysis and reporting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Proficiency with financial management software and Microsoft Office.

Salary Range
$110,000–CA$140,000 annually
