We’re Sharp Performance
Sharp Performance is transforming mental wellness for those in high-stress and demanding professions, starting with public safety. Through our mobile platform, we connect frontline professionals with elite performance and development coaches.
Our approach is grounded in cognitive performance methods adapted from the U.S. Special Operations community. We focus on helping individuals manage stress, build resilience, and perform at their best, without the stigma that often comes with traditional mental health solutions.
We’re backed by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and top-tier investors behind companies like Uber, Airbnb, PayPal, and Palantir. With new partnerships forming weekly and a rapidly expanding user base, we’re delivering life-changing support to those who need it most. If you’re driven, analytical, and want to join a fast-moving team building something that truly matters, we’d love to meet you.
The Opportunity
Sharp Performance is seeking a Business Operations Associate to own and evolve the data systems that power our company. This is a data-heavy role that blends analytics, strategy, and operations. You’ll take over management of our data tables, KPI creation, build dashboards for internal teams and customers, and ensure that decision-making across the company is grounded in accurate, actionable data.
You’ll work directly with the Head of Marketplace and partner with leaders across Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to drive visibility, alignment, and performance. One day you might be writing SQL queries to build a new customer insights dashboard, and the next you might be diagnosing operational bottlenecks or designing new business metrics from scratch.
This is an incredible opportunity for an early-career operator who loves startups, thrives on data, and wants to learn how every part of a company works. You’ll work alongside a top-tier team with experience building and scaling some of the most successful startups in tech, and you’ll have a front-row seat as we change the game in performance coaching and mental wellness.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Bring Clarity to Chaos. Own Sharp’s data pipeline and tables that power every decision we make. Turn messy data into clean, actionable insights that help us move faster and smarter.
- Build Dashboards That Drive Action. Design and manage dashboards for internal teams and customers, transforming data into stories that inspire focus, alignment, and results.
- Be the Cross-Functional Integrator. Work across Sales, Customer Success, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to ensure everyone has the data and clarity they need to execute at the highest level.
- Define the Metrics That Matter. Establish and standardize key business metrics, creating a shared language for performance across the company. Your definitions become the foundation for how Sharp measures success.
- Turn Data Into Decisions. Dive deep into data to uncover patterns, trends, and opportunities. Partner with leadership to translate insights into strategy and execution.
- Fix What’s Broken, and Make It Better. Identify operational gaps before they become issues, design scalable solutions, and create durable systems that grow with us.
- Build the Systems That Scale the Mission. Collaborate with leaders across the company to establish the data infrastructure, automation, and processes that keep Sharp running at elite speed and precision.
The Skillset You’ll Need To Succeed
- 2+ years in a high-performing, analytical environment (e.g., consulting, analytics, BizOps, or similar).
- Proficiency with SQL and familiarity with at least one analytical programming language (Python preferred).
- Experience with data warehouses like Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery.
- Strong analytical mindset and comfort working with large datasets to find patterns, surface insights, and drive business decisions.
- A system-builder mindset: you think in terms of scalable processes and clean data architecture, not one-off reports.
- Ability to communicate complex data clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a bias for action and ownership.
- Excitement to learn fast, work cross-functionally, and build the operational engine of a fast-growing, mission-driven startup.
