IMMEDIATE INTERIM OPPORTUNITY
Interim – Chief Financial Officer
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Duration: 12 Months (Hybrid)
Location: British Columbia (Accommodation Provided)
Our client, a large Canadian healthcare organization is seeking an accomplished finance professional to drive a major transformation of the function elevating its sophistication and value. This assignment is ideal for a senior finance executive with a proven track record in designing and implementing innovative financial models, and with specialized expertise in cost recovery modelling. The successful candidate will oversee a large, talented team of finance professionals, driving change and delivering measurable impact during a critical period of organizational evolution.
Key Objectives
• Lead the rollout of new financial models to support strategic objectives and operational excellence.
• Develop and implement robust cost recovery modelling and processes.
• Develop the costing model to better understand the true cost of services.
• Develop a service pricing model that is predictable and transparent.
• Guide the finance team through a period of transformation, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Provide strategic financial leadership to the executive team and Board, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Establish new reporting processes for Board, management, and stakeholders.
• Oversee all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, reporting, compliance, and risk management.
• Drive process improvement initiatives and ensure best practices in financial
management and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership, contributing to organizational planning and decision-making.
• Lead the design and deployment of new financial models, including cost recovery frameworks, tailored to the organization’s needs.
• Coach, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of finance professionals, building capacity and developing future leaders.
• Oversee annual and multi-year operating and capital budgeting processes, ensuring effective resource allocation.
• Monitor and forecast financial position, enabling proactive decision-making and risk
mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, legal, and regulatory
requirements.
• Lead internal and external audit processes, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve operational and strategic
Objectives.
• Identify and execute financial improvement projects aligned with the organization’s strategic plan.
Candidate Profile
• CPA or equivalent professional designation in good standing.
• Extensive experience as CFO in large, complex organizations (public sector, healthcare, non-profit, utility, oil & gas or construction).
• Demonstrated expertise in rolling out new financial models and cost recovery
modelling.
• Proven success in leading large finance teams through transformation and change.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience with ERP and financial systems implementation is an asset.
