Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Vice President of Sales Operations to join our Heidelberg Leadership Team and help lead our sales team in achieving our strategic objectives of growing our top line, bottom line, and our associates. This role will have direct responsibility for each Director of Sales Operations (excluding our AB DSO’s in Western OH) in the designated region and will help drive a consistent Heidelberg culture of excellence, guided by our Mission, Vision, and Core Values. This role requires a visionary leader with a strong understanding of the market, exceptional leadership & communication skills, and a proven record of accomplishment in sales or operations management.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for driving the appropriate structure of sales operations at each location under designated responsibility
- Responsible for performance vs. budget on key metrics, including Revenue & GP Goals, Inventory Control, Comp/Benefit, Advertising Spends, Donations, P.O.S., Travel & Entertainment
- Participates and presents in weekly HLT Catch Up meeting and monthly HLT Deep Dive meeting in person
- Prepare and present regular reports on performance vs. budget, forecasts, key metrics, and any other local execution team updates to the Heidelberg Leadership Team
- Help create consistent alignment amongst sales divisions and our go to market strategy
- Ensure divisions meet the appropriate level of staffing in partnership with HLT & Financial Objectives
- Drives team to achieve Key Initiatives as laid out in partnership with HLT
- Drives team to achieve Sales and Operation Budgets as laid out in partnership with HLT
- Helps create consistent statewide objectives & performance management, in partnership with HLT & Sales VP’s
- Help create a culture of best practice sharing and continuous improvement
- Drive the implementation of sales processes, tools, and best practices to optimize efficiency and effectiveness across the sales team
- Host weekly catch-up meetings with local leaders in partnership with VP of Business Operations
- Along with the Senior VP of Sales Operations, conduct sales & delivery re-routes as necessary
- Help create and implement a consistent onboarding process
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets and market expansion goals within the assigned region
- Lead, mentor, and motivate high-performing sales managers, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure consistent achievement of sales objectives
- Foster strong relationships with key customers both On and Off Premise to drive business development opportunities and maintain a deep understanding of market trends
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including VPs of Supplier, Key Account Coordinators, RVPs of Operations, and finance to align sales initiatives with overall company objectives
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for growth, assess performance, and refine sales strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with the local Engagement ambassadors to support creating and executing companywide events and initiatives
Qualifications And Requirements
- Proven experience (2+ years) in a sales or operations management role, demonstrating consistent success in achieving and surpassing sales or operation targets within a regional or multi-market environment
- Strong leadership abilities with a record of accomplishment of building, developing, and motivating high-performing teams
- Exceptional strategic planning, negotiation, and communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of beverage alcohol market trends, competitors, and customer behavior
- Proficiency in utilizing IDIG, VIP, BOW, and Microsoft Office software along with other sales management tools
- Willingness to travel as needed within the assigned region
