Overview
A private equity–backed platform is seeking an accomplished financial leader to serve as its Chief Financial Officer. The CFO will oversee all financial, strategic, and operational finance functions as the organisation expands across Europe.
The role requires deep expertise in corporate finance, capital allocation, and financial operations, combined with the ability to support rapid growth and professionalise systems, reporting, and governance. The successful candidate will partner closely with the CEO, board, and investors to ensure disciplined financial management and long-term value creation.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the firm’s overall financial strategy, ensuring alignment with growth objectives and investor expectations.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, capital allocation, financial planning, and performance management.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to the CEO and senior leadership team.
- Prepare board reports, financial analyses, and investment papers for executive decision-making.
Capital Formation & Structuring
- Lead corporate financing activities, including equity, debt, and structured funding.
- Build and maintain relationships with lenders, banks, financial institutions, and investors.
- Oversee optimal capital structure and liquidity management.
- Support evaluation and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and strategic transactions.
Financial Operations & Controls
- Establish and maintain robust internal financial controls, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Oversee accounting, audit, treasury, tax, reporting, and financial systems across multiple jurisdictions.
- Implement scalable processes and systems to support operational efficiency and organisational growth.
Business Performance & Portfolio Oversight
- Monitor financial and operational performance across business units and subsidiaries.
- Lead initiatives to improve profitability, working capital management, and cost optimisation.
- Support integration, restructuring, and transformation initiatives as needed.
- Ensure alignment with governance, regulatory, and reporting standards.
Strategic Partnerships & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Collaborate with commercial, operational, and corporate development teams to assess new opportunities and business cases.
- Support negotiations for partnerships, joint ventures, acquisitions, and major commercial agreements.
- Provide financial leadership to cross-functional projects and organisational initiatives.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Skills
- 12–20 years of experience in corporate finance, financial leadership, or senior executive roles.
- Proven track record as a CFO or senior finance executive in a scaling or complex organisation.
- Strong expertise in financial planning, capital raising, valuation, and corporate structuring.
- Experience managing investor, lender, and senior-stakeholder relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and mentor high-performing finance teams.
- Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.
