Turnaround and healthcare consulting company, located in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the Company and its clients’ healthcare facilities throughout the United States. The Company’s current portfolio includes senior living communities, assisted living communities, specialized care, memory care, skilled nursing, hospitals, behavioral health and other healthcare related facilities. The Company’s clients and referral sources are often lenders, healthcare facilities, private equity groups, banks, attorneys and various governmental authorities. We provide consulting expertise as well as third-party management of the healthcare facilities.

Position Summary
The primary purpose of the Chief Financial Officer will be to direct all financial affairs of the Company using generally accepted accounting principles, including accounting, payroll, business office, purchasing, billing and reimbursement, credit and collections, and other financial matters as directed by the CEO. As Chief Financial Officer, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability necessary for leading the financial aspects of the Company as well as leading the finance and accounting team. You will perform financial analysis, which includes ROI assessments, cost-benefit analysis and variance analysis to enhance strategic decision-making. You will need to have a deep understanding of working with distressed healthcare facilities and have expertise managing multiple accounts, creating 13-week cash flow projections, building financial statements, projecting wind-down budgets and managing investment accounts.

- Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization and oversee federal and state awards and programs. Ensure compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
- Facilitate and enhance the use of business intelligence, including key performance indicators and metrics, to provide business insight and better decision-making.
- Direct all general accounting functions including annual financial audits, tax filings and financial reporting and analysis.
- Lead the strategic planning process for the Company’s long-term and annual financial planning and budget cycles. Monitor departmental budgetary performance.
- Understand and oversee the financials of distressed healthcare facilities and ability to build and create 13-week cash flows and wind down budgets.
- Provide direction to all management staff related to the performance of financial management matters.
- Serve as collaborative partner with senior leadership team to establish and monitor a wide range of strategic, financial, operational, clinical and administrative goals.
- Prepare budgets or forecasts and prepares cash flow analyses and budget variance analyses.
- Responsible for the direction and submission on a timely basis of all financial data associated reports required by government and other regulated agencies including payroll tax reports, public disclosure reports, and thirty party payor cost reports

Education / Experience
- Experience working with private and government payor sources
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Master’s degree preferred
- MBA or CPA preferred
- Financial management experience in a healthcare environment
- Technical software skills and experience: MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, QuickBooks, Point Click Care, Yardi, MatrixCare, and other server-based financial software systems
