This is a newly created role that reports to the Sales and Marketing Director and will take ownership of a team of around ten people across new sales and renewals. The working model is entirely inbound, with enquiries coming from a predominantly pension age customer base. The focus is not on aggressive selling but on delivering excellent service, building trust and improving conversion through strong coaching, clear processes and a deep understanding of customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and mentor an established new sales and renewals team
- Drive improvements in conversion through structured training and ongoing development
- Support the digitisation and modernisation of customer contact processes
- Embed a consistent, consultative and customer focused approach to selling
- Work closely with senior leadership to shape sales strategy and identify opportunities for improvement
- Maintain a visible leadership presence and nurture a collaborative, supportive culture
Specific Tasks:
- Daily overview of sales and retention to ensure the company meets it targets.
- Co-ordinating with the principal underwriter on a regular basis regarding products and benefits.
- Winning and retaining policy holders
- Sales and retention coaching and training
About you:
- Proven track record in a sales leadership or customer service leadership role
- Strong experience of coaching, training and nurturing teams
- Confident leading in a consultative, service led environment
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities to improve conversion
- PMI experience is preferred, although candidates from adjacent regulated or customer led sectors will also be considered
- A genuine team player who thrives on developing other
- Sufficient managerial experience and knowledge to lead an insurance intermediary in a regulated sector in order to carry out the above tasks.
- Strong sales training experience
- Ability to develop a detailed knowledge of Actisure/CRM.
- Use of MS Office and basic office skills.
- Effective teamwork, management skills, active listening, ability to multitask, time management, taking responsibility, initiative, influencing and negotiating skills, flexibility and ability to work within a compliance framework.
