Full- time Monday-Friday, 80 hours per pay period
The Chief Financial Officer will oversee all financial management for Mankato Clinic. Reporting to the CEO the CFO will have an overall responsibility for developing and implementing the short and long range financial plans, and for initiating appropriate fiscal strategies to ensure viability, growth and development. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare management, financial acumen, and the ability to inspire teams to a common goal.
Leadership & Strategy:
Support the Clinics growth strategy by providing expertise in identifying, evaluating and negotiating new business opportunities including acquisitions, divestitures, leases, joint ventures or new business line development. Lead and mentor senior leadership and staff, promotion a culture of teamwork, accountability, and professional development. Provide strategic financial support for the organization by helping Directors and Managers ensure that their day-to-day decisions are consistent with the Clinics long range financial goals. Provides overall direction and leadership support to the Directors in the following departments: Finance, Revenue Cycle Management, Health Information, Building Services, Information Technology, Laboratory and Imaging.
Oversight of Financial Reporting, Analysis and Budgeting:
Leads financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and cash management while providing timely analysis and financial guidance to the CEO, Board of Directors, Finance Committee and senior leaders. They develop performance metrics, improve financial processes, and ensure effective resource use across the organization.
Oversight of Revenue Cycle and Payer Contracting:
Oversees the full revenue cycle—registration, coding, billing, and collections—to ensure accounts receivable performance meets organizational targets. They lead managed care contracting strategy, monitor compliance with payer agreements, develop analytical tools to support value-based care initiatives, and stay current on regulatory changes impacting reimbursement.
Treasury & Business Development:
Monitors the Clinic’s treasury functions, including banking relationships, investment management, and securing financing. They provide financial expertise for new programs, real estate needs, major contracts, and business development opportunities, while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Physician Compensation:
Partners with the CEO and Compensation Committee to ensure the Clinic’s physician compensation program is market-competitive and aligned with organizational strategy. Oversee updates to the compensation system, ensure effective reporting and communication with providers, and help evolve the plan to reflect changing payer incentives.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure the clinic remains compliant with all regulatory and accreditation requirements, including healthcare laws industry standards, and ethical practices. The CFO is the Corporate Compliance Officer and assists with the development, negotiation, administration and legal review of all contracts.
Community Engagement:
Act as a public face for Mankato Clinic, representing the organization to the community, stakeholders, and industry partners. Maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders including patients, staff, government officials, and business leaders.
Qualifications:
Education:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent is required. A master’s degree in accounting, finance, health care administration or related field and/or a CPA certified is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years progressive healthcare financial management experience with a track record of success; ideally, as a CFO in a multi-specialty clinic setting in a highly competitive market.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary range: $250,000-350,000 depending on experience
