About the Opportunity
LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a highly respected Houston-based professional services organization to identify an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This executive leadership role will oversee all accounting, finance, reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and operational finance functions for a partnership-driven business.
The CFO will serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership while also providing hands-on oversight of financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance leader who enjoys combining high-level strategy with detailed financial analysis and process improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in public accounting, professional services, legal, consulting, or other partnership-based environments and will be comfortable presenting financial results to executive stakeholders and ownership groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all accounting and finance functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, accounts receivable, billing, collections, and financial analysis.
- Partner closely with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
- Develop and oversee attorney/partner compensation modeling and profitability analysis.
- Present financial results, forecasts, and business insights to executive leadership and ownership groups.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
- Oversee a finance and accounting team, providing leadership, mentorship, and development.
- Drive financial analytics and reporting that support revenue performance, budgeting, and resource planning.
- Support technology initiatives and finance system enhancements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA required
- Public accounting background highly preferred.
- Experience within a law firm, professional services firm, consulting organization, or partnership environment is highly desirable.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis.
- Proven ability to present financial information to executive leadership, ownership groups, or boards.
- Demonstrated success leading teams and driving operational improvements.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Stable employment history with a track record of long-term tenure and career progression.
