Job Overview
Boart Longyear is seeking a highly strategic and results-driven GTM Country Manager to lead its Drilling Products business in Canada. This critical leadership role is accountable for the country-level P&L, driving commercial strategy, optimizing logistics and service delivery, and overseeing a high-performing cross-functional team including Sales, Customer Service, Technical Services, and Logistics. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the mining supply chain and distribution models, a passion for operational excellence, and a proven track record of driving revenue growth and market share in a B2B industrial setting.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & P&L Management
- Own and manage full country-level profit & loss responsibilities.
- Monitor performance KPIs, margins, and cost structures to meet or exceed financial targets.
- Identify commercial growth levers and drive execution across field teams.
Sales & Market Expansion
- Lead and develop the Commercialization Sales Team to exceed revenue targets and increase market penetration across core Canadian mining regions.
- Implement go-to-market strategies aligned with global product and marketing objectives.
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with key mining operators, contractors, and procurement leaders.
Customer Experience & Service Excellence
- Oversee Customer Service Representatives and internal order fulfillment processes.
- Ensure consistent delivery of customer value and responsiveness to inquiries and issues.
- Utilize customer feedback to identify service enhancements and retention strategies.
Technical Services Leadership
- Collaborate with the Technical Services team to deliver expert field support, training, and problem-solving to customers.
- Advocate for local product feedback to support product development and refinement.
Logistics & Operational Efficiency
- Manage both regional and local logistics, including warehousing and distributor flow, to ensure timely delivery and cost optimization.
- Work closely with supply chain teams to forecast demand and inventory needs accurately.
Distributor & Channel Network Management
- Strengthen and expand the Canadian distributor network through onboarding, performance reviews, and collaborative planning.
- Provide commercial and technical support to maximize channel effectiveness.
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture and enforce all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
- Lead incident investigations, safety audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Strategic Planning & Collaboration
- Contribute to regional strategic plans and provide market insight to senior leadership.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with global teams in Finance, Marketing, Product Management, and Supply Chain.
- Lead or support initiatives for market entry, product launches, and commercial transformation.

Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- MBA or postgraduate qualifications (preferred).
Experience
- Minimum 7+ years in a commercial leadership role, preferably within the mining, drilling, industrial equipment, or heavy manufacturing sectors.
- Demonstrated experience with P&L ownership, distributor management, and technical sales.
- Proven success leading commercial teams across geographically dispersed markets.
Languages
- Fluency in English (required).
- Fluency in French (highly preferred due to bilingual markets in Canada).
Physical and Environmental Conditions
Work Environment
- Combination of remote, field-based, and site/customer visits across Canada.
- Regular travel required (30–50%) to visit customers, distribution partners, and internal teams.
- Must be comfortable working in mining environments, including underground and open-pit sites.
Lifting Requirements
- This position is not physically demanding, though occasional travel to warehouse or mining sites may require walking on uneven terrain or standing for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift and carry marketing and demo materials up to 15 kg (33 lbs) when visiting customer or trade events.
