Chief Financial Officer – American Group
This is a hybrid position based at our corporate office in Brentwood, TN, with on-site work required Monday through Wednesday.
Overview: The Chief Financial Officer of American Group is responsible for the financial oversight of Surgery Partner’s surgical facilities (practices and ASCs), working with facility leadership to further enhance Surgery Partner’s double-digit annual growth. This strategic, experienced individual thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Reports To: Chief Financial Officer – Surgery Partners
Requirements:
- Interacts with operating and financial leadership at Surgery Partner’s surgical facilities to develop and achieve budgeted revenue and earnings growth bringing strong financial discipline and actionable business intelligence to the President of the American Group, executive leadership and facility leadership
- Oversees and directs budgeting, forecasting and long-range strategic planning, supports audit and accounting efforts, leads key financial messaging between facilities, regional and enterprise leadership
- Develops data-driven analysis of revenue and cost drivers and makes actionable recommendations to ensure appropriate income/cash flow
- Will work with Planning & Analysis and IT teams in the ongoing development of data analytics and completion of a centralized data warehouse
- Knowledge of the principles of financial management, sufficient to direct professional staff and coordinate all aspects involved with fiscal requirements
- Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making to achieve objectives
- Skill in evaluating operations as they relate to policies, goals and objectives, costs, and rate levels
- Ability to create an atmosphere that encourages motivation, innovation, and high performance
- Ability to delegate responsibility and authority to staff
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
- Manage staff of regional CFOs and FP&A analysts
Experience:
Significant experience with:
- Financial/accounting management in multi-facility environments
- Financial analysis (incl. budgeting and forecasting) and monthly operating reviews
- Physician-owned short-stay facilities - preferred
- Appreciation for SEC-registered company financial and control requirements
- Experience in healthcare financial management - strongly preferred
Other Requirements:
- CPA preferred, SOX experience will be beneficial
