Chief Financial Officer / Country Finance & Commercial Lead
Our client is a European leading chemical manufacturer. As an executive search partner, we are supporting in the appointment of a Chief Financial Officer to support its China and international operations.
Key Responsibilities
This role carries a broad mandate across finance, commercial operations, and market development, working closely with both local leadership and global headquarters:
- Full responsibility for financial, commercial, logistical, and customer support activities
- Coordination of sales volumes, pricing strategy, and commercial terms in line with global policies
- Market analysis and integration of local insights into global strategy, and vice versa
- Development of marketing materials and coordination of trade fairs, industry events, and institutional relationships
- Act as a key liaison between China operations and global headquarters
- Oversee local office management and organizational setup
- Support new business initiatives, including potential new production facilities in China and/or Europe
- Play an active role in new market development, including emerging advanced materials segments
- Ensure alignment between local execution and global strategic objectives
Candidate Profile
We are seeking a commercially astute finance leader who thrives in an international, growth-oriented environment:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; experience in an audit firm or professional services environment is highly regarded
- Proven track record in senior finance roles, with strong exposure to commercial operations, sales support, or key account management
- Strong understanding of pricing, contracts, and customer profitability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in cross-cultural settings
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving capabilities
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment
- Willingness to travel as required
- Experience supporting greenfield setups, new entities, or business expansion projects is a strong advantage
