Chief Financial Officer (Non-Profit)
Salary: $140-150k/yr.
Location: Oklahoma City, OK (On-site)
Position Overview
The CFO oversees all financial operations, including compliance and financial reporting related to federal and state contracts, private grants, and regulatory requirements. This role requires the ability to thrive in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment while maintaining strong professional integrity and accountability.
Job Qualifications
Education
*
Required: Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field
*
Preferred: Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Licensure
*
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), active and current in Oklahoma
Experience
*
Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a CFO or equivalent senior financial leader for an organization with an annual budget of at least $10 million
*
Demonstrated experience partnering with executive leadership to develop and implement financial strategies
*
Strong background in nonprofit or not-for-profit accounting, including complex fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting
*
Proven leadership and team management experience
*
Experience working with finance and accounting systems and collaborating with information technology teams
Required Experience:
*
CFO or equivalent leadership experience in a nonprofit organization
*
Experience managing federal grants and federally assisted contracts
*
Advanced knowledge of nonprofit accounting in accordance with GAAP, OMB Circulars, and applicable federal regulations
Essential Functions
*
Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all financial operations in accordance with organizational philosophy, Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), State Attorney General, and other applicable regulations.

Lead, manage, and develop the accounting and finance team through effective supervision, mentorship, and performance management.
*
Establish and maintain best-practice financial policies, procedures, and internal controls that support both fiscal discipline and operational flexibility.
*
Develop forward-looking financial models and activity-based analyses to support strategic decision-making and business planning.
*
Recommend strategies to enhance financial performance, sustainability, and business opportunities.
*
Direct financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term financial planning processes.
*
Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
*
Advise executive leadership on financial risks, opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
*
Ensure annual financial objectives are achieved through actionable planning and performance monitoring.
*
Analyze financial performance, identify strengths and risks, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
*
Ensure all legal, regulatory, and compliance filings are completed accurately and on time.
*
Coordinate development of annual operating, capital, and program budgets, including variance reporting.
*
Monitor compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and grant-related regulations.
*
Ensure cash flow and liquidity are aligned with operational needs.
*
Oversee cash management, investments, and asset management.
*
Stay current on nonprofit financial best practices, audit standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
*
Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable financial and tax reporting requirements.
*
Oversee and coordinate annual audits and tax filings.
*
Provide consistent financial reporting and data to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
*
Serve as the primary financial liaison to the Board of Directors and relevant committees.
*
Represent the organization to financial partners, auditors, funders, public officials, and other stakeholders.
*
Collaborate with the Executive Team on organizational strengthening, partnerships, community collaborations, and strategic planning.
*
Participate in organizational policy development as a member of the Executive Team.
*
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.
