Role Summary
This role leads the systems that power the company’s core business operations, including finance, sales, and enterprise workflows. The Director of Enterprise Business Applications owns the direction, performance, and ongoing evolution of ERP, CRM, and related platforms, ensuring they remain reliable, compliant, and aligned with how the business operates.
Positioned at the intersection of finance, operations, and technology, this leader combines strong accounting expertise with hands-on systems leadership. The role relies on a hybrid delivery model, balancing internal ownership with managed service partners to translate business requirements into scalable system outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Business Alignment
- Define and deliver an enterprise applications strategy aligned with business and IT priorities
- Own application roadmaps across ERP, CRM, and supporting platforms
- Partner with executive leadership, Finance, Operations, and Sales to enable operational and financial outcomes through systems
- Balance innovation, control, and stability in regulated environments
ERP & Financial Systems Leadership
- Serve as the primary owner of the company’s ERP platform, with deep responsibility for finance and operational processes
- Ensure systems support accounting, close, reporting, inventory, purchasing, and revenue workflows
- Maintain strong financial controls, data integrity, and audit readiness
- Enable budgeting, forecasting, and planning through accurate and trusted system data
Enterprise Platforms & Integrations
- Oversee ERP, CRM, and connected enterprise applications end-to-end
- Ensure integrations across finance, sales, operations, HR, and reporting function reliably and at scale
- Drive workflow standardization and simplification across platforms
- Monitor performance, availability, and scalability as the organization grows
Delivery Model & Vendor Oversight
- Lead execution through a combination of internal teams and third-party service providers
- Set expectations, service levels, and accountability for external partners
- Oversee implementations, upgrades, and enhancements from planning through delivery
- Ensure issues are resolved effectively with a focus on long-term fixes
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure enterprise applications meet regulatory, audit, and compliance standards
- Enforce access controls, segregation of duties, and disciplined change management
- Partner with security and infrastructure teams to manage risk and protect data
Leadership & Reporting
- Build and lead a high-performing applications team and vendor ecosystem
- Establish clear ownership, documentation, and support models
- Provide executive-level reporting on system health, risks, progress, and business impact
- Act as the escalation point for critical system issues affecting finance or operations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field
- 8+ years leading ERP and enterprise application environments
- Strong hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Deep understanding of accounting and financial processes
- Proven success delivering through managed service providers
- Experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments
- Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills
