The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) oversees the financial and accounting functions of our commercial electrical contracting firm, ensuring fiscal responsibility and strategic financial management. This role is responsible for day-to-day financial leadership, project accounting oversight, and managing key external relationships, while partnering closely with ownership and operations.
This is an in-office leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to the business, the people, and the projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead all accounting and finance activities including job cost, WIP, payroll, and financial reporting

Oversee monthly and annual financial statements and cash flow

Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, and cash planning

Work directly with the bonding company on reporting and renewals

Oversee payroll operations using Paycom

Oversee & work with the HR Manager on Health Care benefits and providers

Coordinate the annual financial statement review and tax return with external CPAs

Monthly Executive meetings to review monthly close, project performance & margins.

Lead and support the Controller, 2 payroll professionals, 3 project accountants and accounts payable

Oversee and optimize Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (CRE) for construction accounting

Perform other job duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Proven financial leadership experience in construction or electrical contracting

Strong knowledge of job cost accounting, WIP, and project-based financials

Experience managing banking and bonding relationships

Comfortable working in a hands-on environment

Experience with Sage and Paycom preferred

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus
