The Opportunity
We are a long-standing commercial electrical contractor looking for a senior finance leader who wants to be close to the work, the people, and the decisions. This role partners directly with ownership and operations and works day-to-day with the Controller, project accounting team, and payroll.
This is not a remote or back-office role. We are looking for someone who values being present, understands how projects flow through the business, and enjoys solving real operational and financial challenges alongside leadership.
What You’ll Be Involved In
- Day-to-day oversight of financial activity tied to active projects
- Monitoring margins, cash movement, and overall financial health
- Working directly with lenders and surety partners
- Supporting payroll and benefits administration in coordination with HR
- Coordinating annual financial review and tax filings with outside advisors
- Participating in regular leadership discussions around performance, forecasts, and upcoming work
- Guiding and supporting the accounting, payroll, and project teams
- Maintaining and improving our current accounting systems and processes
What We’re Hoping You Bring
- Experience in a project-driven business, ideally construction or electrical
- A strong understanding of how job costs and project performance tie to the financials
- Comfort working directly with banks and bonding partners
- A hands-on mindset and willingness to stay close to details
- Experience with Sage and Paycom is helpful but not required
- Accounting or finance degree; credentials welcome but not mandatory
