Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial operations of our organization in Birmingham, Alabama. The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving financial strategy, ensuring fiscal integrity, and supporting long-term growth in a construction or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic financial leadership and serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team
- Oversee all financial functions including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, tax, audit, and financial reporting
- Develop and execute financial strategies that support operational efficiency, profitability, and growth
- Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including cost controls, capital allocation, and risk management
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and internal controls
- Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, lenders, and other financial partners
- Support mergers, acquisitions, capital investments, and other strategic initiatives
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team
Qualifications & Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in a construction or manufacturing setting
- Proven experience in senior financial management or executive-level roles
- Strong understanding of job costing, project-based accounting, and operational finance
- CPA preferred (MBA or other advanced degree a plus)
- Exceptional analytical, leadership, and communication skills
- Ability to partner cross-functionally and influence at the executive and board level
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $275,000 – $350,000, dependent on experience
