About the CMM
The Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq (CMM) is a Tribal Council representing eight Mi’kmaw communities across mainland Nova Scotia: Wasoqopa’q, Annapolis Valley, Bear River, Glooscap, Millbrook, Paqtnkek, Pictou Landing, and Sipekne’katik.
Located in Millbrook First Nation, Nova Scotia, CMM has grown to over 120 employees and delivers a wide range of advisory, technical, and direct services that support community self-determination, governance, health and wellness, economic development, and infrastructure.
CMM’s mission is to proactively promote and support Mi’kmaw communities’ initiatives toward self-determination, sustainability, and enhanced community well-being. Through its core organization and Development Corporation, CMM works in close partnership with member communities, funders, and government agencies to strengthen capacity, accountability, and long-term impact.

The CFO oversees annual budgets, leads audit preparation, ensures compliance with funding agreements and contracts, manages employee benefits and financial components of agreements, and partners closely with Senior Management on quarterly variance analysis.
This role balances strategic leadership with operational oversight, working collaboratively across departments, communities, and external partners to support CMM’s long-term impact and success.
