Primary objective
Provide high level leadership and management of the Top End Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (TEMH AOD)
Corporate Services Team and advice to senior management on the development and improvement of business and administrative
capabilities and systems.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Provide a high degree of leadership and utilise contemporary management skills to facilitate delivery of innovative and responsive
Corporate and Business Services
2. Provide expert advice and direction to Managers and employees regarding the delivery of effective, contemporary corporate and
business services, with a focus on continuous improvement.
3. Lead the development and implementation of projects to improve the business and operational performance of Top End Mental
Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service.
4. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
5. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in
order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Proven leadership and management skills together with a sound ability to effectively manage a Corporate Service Team to achieve
business objectives with effective performance outcome monitoring.
2. Proven corporate knowledge and ability to provide advice to senior management on the provision of Corporate and Business Services.
3. Comprehensive skills in business process improvement to deliver quality service outcomes that meet the needs of a changing
organisational environment.
4. High level of interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including demonstrated high level of negotiation and
problem solving skills.
5. Proven ability to understand, analyse and interpret policies, legislation, business plans and financial reports.
6. Ability to quickly acquire a sound knowledge of current and emerging corporate and business management issues and developments
affecting the group.
7. An ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures and an understanding of cultural values, economic situations and
political sensitivities of clients and stakeholders.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in Business, Human Resource Management, Accounting or similar.
2. Hold a Current NT driver’s licence or ability to acquire.
