About The Role
This role is designed to support the Chief Financial Officer in the overall financial management of the organization and serves as the primaryoperational and leadership backup in the CFO’s absence or as directed. The position plays a central role in ensuring SAM remains financially sound through ethical fiscal practices, accurate and complete financial reporting, and prudent use of organizational funds. Working closely with executive leadership and aligned with the Mission, Vision, and Values of the organization, this role contributes to strategic initiatives, compliance, and long-term financial sustainability.
Core Responsibilities
- Assists the CFO in ensuring the organization is financially sound and operates with ethical fiscal practices and procedures.
- Oversees the overall quality, consistency, and integrity of fiscal practices across the organization.
- Ensures prudent use, tracking, and reporting of funds in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Oversees third-party reimbursement functions and related financial processes.
- Supports achievement of organizational goals established by the SAM Board of Directors.
- Participates in strategic planning and execution of organizational financial initiatives.
- Ensures contractual financial obligations are met and supports development and implementation of fiscal policies and procedures as needed.

Education & Experience
Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
CPA designation and seven to ten years of progressive financial leadership experience are strongly preferred.
Experience leading and supervising finance departments, preparing and presenting financial reports, and reporting to Boards of Directors is highly preferred. A combination of relevant experience and education may be considered.
Employment Requirements
Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record and valid automobile insurance.
Act 33 and Act 34 Clearances, FBI Fingerprint Clearance.
Social Security Card, Immigration and Naturalization (I-9), and Drug Screening Clearance.
Working Conditions
Prolonged periods working on a computer in an open office environment.
Comfortable communicating through virtual technology.
Work may be required during evenings and weekends.
Travel throughout the SAM footprint may be extensive and may occur in adverse weather conditions, with occasional overnight travel required.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
