A growing consumer products manufacturing firm in Carson, CA is seeking an experienced, hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and leadership team while remaining deeply engaged in day-to-day operations. This leader will strengthen the financial infrastructure, enhance visibility into performance, and help scale the business through improved processes, controls, and cross-functional collaboration across manufacturing, supply chain, and sales.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy: Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with the overall goals and objectives.
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes, providing insights to support decision-making.
- Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Profitability: Drive profitability by actively guiding company strategy with data-driven, actionable insights.
- Production & Costing: Review inventory planning to align with sales orders / forecasts and conduct detailed annual reviews of product costing (labor, overhead, materials).
- Product Development: Partner with senior management to evaluate new product opportunities in a structured approach that bridges high-level strategic goals with operational execution, ensuring that the company focuses on meaningful initiatives with higher outcomes.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks through effective risk management strategies and controls.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure adequate funds for operations and strategic investments.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, laws, and standards.
- Tax Planning: Develop tax strategies to optimize the company's tax position and minimize tax liabilities.
- Financial Systems and Processes: Continuously evaluate and improve financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Leadership: Build and develop a high-performing finance team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role either as CFO or VP Finance in the manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, practices, and regulations.
