Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Sector: PE-Backed Commercial Construction / Roofing / Field Services
Platform: M&A Roll-up / Ground-Up Build
Location: TBD
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact leadership role for a strategic financial executive to join a private equity-backed platform at the launch of an intensive consolidation strategy. We are executing a multi-company M&A roll-up within the Commercial Construction sector, with a clear roadmap to scale the enterprise to $300M–$350M in revenue and $40M+ in EBITDA within the next 24 months.
As the inaugural CFO, you will serve as the primary architect of the organization’s financial infrastructure, leading the build strategy from its foundational stages. Partnering closely with the CEO and PE sponsors, you will transform independent regional entities into a sophisticated, unified national platform. This is a ground-up build that offers a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone ready to drive the heavy lifting.
Only considering local candidates in the Dallas / Fort Worth metro area.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic M&A & Integration
- Partner with the PE sponsor to evaluate acquisition targets, lead financial due diligence, and execute transactions.
- Design and oversee the post-acquisition integration framework, ensuring standardized accounting, reporting, and treasury functions across all new subsidiaries.
2. Infrastructure Development & Professionalization
- Establish and scale a best-in-class finance and accounting function from the ground up.
- Implement a unified ERP and CRM landscape to provide real-time visibility into field operations and corporate performance.
- Institutionalize internal controls and financial discipline, transitioning regional operations into a high-performance corporate environment.
3. Operational Excellence & Field Services Support
- Drive margin expansion by analyzing project-level profitability, labor costs, and procurement efficiencies across multiple locations.

4. Leadership & Mentorship
- Direct and develop the Corporate Controller and the broader finance team.
- Foster a culture of accountability and high performance, bridging the gap between corporate strategy and field-level execution.
5. Board & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary liaison to the Private Equity board, delivering sophisticated financial reporting, cash flow modeling, and variance analysis.
- Manage lender relationships and ensure compliance with all debt covenants during a period of rapid scaling.
