Responsibilities
You’ll support and lead both recurring operational work and mission-critical projects as the business scales. Responsibilities will evolve, but may include:
Core Operational Infrastructure & Risk Ownership
- Lead project management across internal initiatives, including hardware sourcing, contractor oversight, and vendor performance
- Own insurance policies, vendor renewals, and third-party relationships with a focus on cost discipline and risk management
- Oversee accounting coordination, expense workflows, and financial tracking in partnership with external and internal stakeholders
- Partner directly with legal and compliance counsel on contracts, IP coordination, regulatory matters, and government-related submissions (e.g., SBIR, patent coordination)
- Ensure recurring compliance and reporting requirements are executed accurately and on time
Systems & Process Design
- Design and implement scalable internal processes as the company grows
- Build and maintain operational analyses, margin reporting, scenario models, and executive dashboards
- Identify structural gaps or inefficiencies and proactively implement durable solutions
- Stand up and optimize internal systems (e.g., Carta, Justworks, Notion), emphasizing auditability, permissioning, and long-term scalability
Strategic & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Drive complex cross-functional initiatives with clear ownership, timelines, and accountability
- Lead sourcing and procurement reviews across hardware, operations, and finance to reduce supply-chain risk ahead of utility-scale deployments
- Operationalize data handoffs between field operations and ML pipelines to improve cycle time and reduce rework
- Project manage high-stakes customer workflows, aligning legal, compliance, operations, and executive stakeholders across multi-party RFPs
Experience/Skills
- 4-7 years of experience in an early-stage start up environment or business operations, strategy, consulting, finance, legal operations
- Demonstrated experience designing and improving operational systems, not just executing tasks within them
- Strong analytical and modeling skills (Google Sheets / Excel required)
- Proven ability to independently lead complex, cross-functional workstreams
- Sound operational judgment, particularly in regulated or high-compliance environments
- Clear, structured communicator comfortable working directly with senior leadership
- Ability to balance speed and rigor in environments with high accountability
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and limited predefined process
- Experience with regulated industries, hardware, infrastructure, or government-adjacent work is a plus, but not required.

Salary
The estimated salary range for this position is $150,000-180,000. Total compensation for this position is determined by skills, qualifications, relevant work experience, location, and other factors. This salary estimate excludes the value of any potential bonuses; the value of any benefits offered; and the potential future value of any long-term incentives. This information is provided per the New York City Human Rights Law. Please note that the range provided is applicable only to New York City-based applicants. Base compensation may vary if the work location is outside of New York City.
