Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
About the Role
TalkShopLive is looking for a hands-on CFO to help scale a fast-growing live commerce and technology startup. This role is both strategic and deeply operational, ideal for a finance leader who thrives in the details, uses data to guide decisions, and knows how to turn growth into profitability. You will partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to ensure capital is deployed effectively as the business scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day financial operations while setting the long-term financial strategy
- Build, manage, and continuously refine financial models tied to live commerce revenue streams (marketplace, creator payouts, platform fees, SaaS, media, and partnerships)
- Actively manage cash flow, burn rate, and runway; make clear recommendations on spend, pacing, and trade-offs
- Use financial insights to prioritize investments across product, creator growth, sales, and marketing
- Oversee accounting, reporting, controls, and compliance with an eye toward scalability
- Support fundraising, board reporting, and investor communications with clear, data-driven narratives
- Build and lead a lean, high-impact finance team and scalable systems
- Establish KPIs and dashboards to track performance across live events, creators, customers, and revenue
- Drive the company toward profitability by improving unit economics, margins, and operational efficiency
What We’re Looking For
- Proven finance leadership experience in a tech, marketplace, or live commerce startup
- Highly hands-on leader comfortable rolling up their sleeves in a scaling environment
- Deep expertise in cash flow management, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-finance leaders
