Chief Financial Officer
Private Equity Backed B2B SaaS
Renumeration: £140,000 per annum + bonus + equity
Location: Based in Leeds

The company
We are partnering with a private equity–backed enterprise SaaS business headquartered in Leeds to appoint its first Chief Financial Officer. The company has established a strong position within its core market and is now entering an ambitious next phase of growth.
The value creation plan is centred on organic international expansion, broadening the product suite into adjacent markets serving its existing enterprise customer base, and selective M&A. This is a pivotal leadership appointment, with the CFO playing a central role in professionalising the organisation, building scalable infrastructure, and partnering closely with the CEO and investors to deliver growth and value.
This role offers a rare opportunity to shape the finance function from inception. The business currently utilises outsourced advisers, and the incoming CFO will be responsible for building a high-calibre, in-house, private equity–ready finance function capable of supporting scale, complexity and future exit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build a best-in-class finance function, transitioning from outsourced support to an internal team
- Establish robust financial controls, governance frameworks and reporting processes appropriate for a PE-backed business
- Develop high-quality board reporting, forecasting and KPI dashboards, with deep ownership of SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, churn, CAC, LTV, cohort performance)
- Lead financial strategy to support international expansion, including entity structuring, tax planning and multi-currency operations
- Partner with sales and product teams to optimise pricing, margin and commercial performance
- Drive the financial evaluation and execution of adjacent product expansion opportunities
- Lead all M&A activity including target evaluation, financial due diligence, deal structuring and post-acquisition integration
- Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, supporting long-term value creation and exit planning
The Candidate
The successful candidate will bring proven experience within enterprise B2B SaaS, ideally in a private equity–backed environment. You will have a deep understanding of recurring revenue economics and scaling subscription models, alongside the ability to operate both strategically and operationally.
You will have built or significantly upgraded a finance function in a growing business and will be comfortable establishing systems, processes and teams from the ground up. Prior experience supporting international growth and executing buy-side M&A is essential.
This role requires commercial instinct, intellectual rigour and the credibility to engage confidently with investors and senior stakeholders. Equally, it demands a hands-on leader willing to build the foundations that will underpin the company’s next phase of growth.
You must be a qualified Accountant, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
This is an exceptional opportunity to join a high-quality SaaS business at a defining moment in its journey and to architect the financial platform that enables scale, expansion and long-term value creation.
