About the Role
The Chief Financial Officer is a key member of our executive leadership team, reporting directly to the president. The CFO oversees all financial operations for our multi-location dealership group, including:
- Financial planning & analysis
- Accounting & reporting
- Treasury & cash flow management
- Risk management & compliance
- Strategic growth & acquisition analysis
- Operational financial support across 18 locations and other support departments
This leader will guide the financial direction of the organization while fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with ownership’s long-term vision.
- Evaluate acquisition and expansion opportunities.
- Provide financial insights that guide executive decision-making.
Driving Change & Results
- Partner with ownership to identify key focus areas.
- Challenge the status quo and drive operational improvement.
- Clearly communicate expectations and proactively address gaps.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead annual forecasting and budgeting.
- Develop and track KPIs across all locations.
- Analyze trends and deliver actionable recommendations.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to tax and regulatory standards.
- Manage relationships with auditors and tax advisors.
Accounting Operations & Treasury
- Oversee the Controller and accounting team.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, banking relationships, and debt financing.
- Optimize financial structures while minimizing risk.
Risk Management & Controls
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls.
- Safeguard company assets across all locations.
Operational & Team Leadership
- Partner with dealership operational leaders to improve performance.
- Mentor and develop finance talent.
- Promote collaboration and continuous improvement across states.
Technology & Systems
- Oversee financial systems implementation and optimization.
- Leverage technology to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Who You Are
You are a strategic thinker with a hands-on leadership style. You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves while also seeing the big picture. You thrive in a multi-location environment and understand the pace of dealership operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience.
- 5+ years in a senior leadership role (CFO or Controller preferred).
- Automotive dealership or multi-location experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of dealership accounting, manufacturer accounting, and floorplan financing.
- Experience with ERP systems (Traverse and/or Sage Intacct preferred).
- Deep knowledge of GAAP.
- Advanced analytical, reporting, and organizational skills.

This role is based at our corporate office in Louisville, KY, with travel to our locations as needed.
