Business Operations Lead
Location – Kendal area / limited remote working
Salary: £36,000–£38,700 FTE (£28,800 - £30,960 pro rata)
0.8 FTE – 30 hours per week

We are a small, ambitious charity empowering visually impaired adults through adventurous activities including hiking, climbing, tandem cycling, caving, canoeing and open water swimming, delivered mainly through residential weekends.
We are seeking a Business Operations Lead to help ensure our organisation runs smoothly, sustainably and compliantly, enabling our team to deliver life-changing experiences safely and effectively.
This varied, hands-on role works closely with Trustees and oversees:
- Financial management (budgeting, cash flow, payroll and reporting)
- Governance, compliance and risk management
- Operational systems (bookings, invoices and communication with clients)
- HR administration and admin team management
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience in financial management and budgeting
- Is highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Understands governance, compliance and risk management
- Can work independently in a small, collaborative team
- Shares our commitment to inclusion and empowering visually impaired adults
Experience in the charity sector, safeguarding, health & safety, or outdoor/residential programmes would be welcome but is not essential.
