Our client, a food and beverage company with multiple sites/locations, is looking to confidentially hire a Chief Financial Officer. The role maxes out around $240k base salary to start, no bonus, and is 5 days on-site in Wilmington.

TITLE: CFO
LOCATION: Wilmington, MA (5 days on-site)
PAY: $220-$240k Base Salary
REPORTS TO: Executive Leadership/President
Primary Purpose
Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and planning, tax coordination, and treasury functions. Supervise the preparation, review, and analysis of financial reports for leadership and external stakeholders, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong capability in preparing periodic financial statements, year-end reporting, and supporting regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Conduct operational and financial needs analyses and recommend or implement policies and procedures where appropriate.
- Lead and manage the finance and accounting function, including areas such as general ledger, financial statements, cash flow monitoring, chart of accounts, receivables, payables, payroll coordination, and regulatory reporting.
- Develop analytical and forecasting tools in collaboration with department leaders.
- Support leadership through regular financial reporting, specialized management reports, and both short- and long-term financial forecasts.
- Participate in organizational budgeting processes and track performance against budget targets.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise accounting and finance staff.
- Oversee tax planning and compliance with applicable federal, state/provincial, and local requirements related to corporate, payroll, and other taxes.
- Collaborate with human resources on employee benefits, retirement programs, and workforce-related cost planning.
- Ensure appropriate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls are established and maintained to safeguard organizational assets and ensure compliance with recognized accounting standards (e.g., GAAP or equivalent).
- Manage cash flow planning and provide financial insight to support operational and strategic initiatives.
- Participate in financial review and analysis related to potential transactions such as partnerships, financing activities, or asset acquisitions/dispositions, where applicable.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with leadership, financial partners, auditors, advisors, and other stakeholders.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., MBA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Significant progressive experience in finance, accounting, or business leadership roles.
- Combination of strategic perspective and hands-on operational experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities.
- Results-oriented, practical decision-maker with strong professional judgment.
- Proven experience in financial management, planning, and analysis.
