Job Title: Field Chief Financial Officer

Our Client is seeking a seasoned finance executive to lead their enterprise field finance organization, overseeing critical functions including FP&A, financial controls, cost accounting, general accounting, tax, treasury, accounts payable/receivable, and credit & collections. This role partners closely with regional and area leadership, serving as the primary finance liaison for strategic initiatives and playing a key role in shaping and executing transformational business strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Field Management
- Drive Business Unit financial and operational goals aligned with company-wide strategy.
- Support senior regional and area leadership teams with financial guidance and decision support.
- Oversee departmental budgets, ensuring strong fiscal discipline and efficient resource allocation.
- Collaborate across departments to enhance processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and strengthen organizational performance.
- Diagnose operational challenges, recommend solutions, and guide teams in executing improvements.
- Act as the primary finance contact for information requests and leadership communication.
- Mentor and develop regional finance teams to maintain excellence and efficiency.
- Lead the execution of initiatives supporting the organization’s long-term transformation roadmap.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records while maintaining full compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with compliance teams to ensure controls, reconciliations, and audit remediations are completed.
- Drive continuous improvement across financial systems, processes, and site performance.
Operational Management
- Champion a collaborative, customer-centric, and high-performance culture across regions.
- Partner with operational and sales leaders to drive volume and revenue growth.
- Work cross-functionally with operations, accounting, audit, and technology teams to support cost accounting, reporting, and process enhancements.
- Contribute to annual planning, monthly forecasting, and performance goal-setting.
- Conduct business reviews, analyze financial outcomes, and communicate key performance drivers.
- Build and develop strong regional finance teams through ongoing engagement and leadership.
- Oversee A/P, A/R, and G/L activities, ensuring strong cash flow and optimized cash cycles.
- Ensure inventory transactions and production processes uphold financial accuracy and control standards.
- Support leadership in building and executing improvement plans informed by employee feedback.
- Evaluate financial impact of business plans and support functions in achieving profitability goals.
- Assist with technology transitions and system upgrades across finance operations.
- Support credit management and master data initiatives tied to reporting and transformation efforts.
- Ensure adequate staffing and strong financial talent across regional teams.
Talent Management
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing finance leaders to support current and future business needs.
- Support organizational talent acquisition, development, and retention strategies.
- Promote and champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
- Use corporate performance tools—such as talent reviews, engagement programs, and leadership development—to strengthen team capability.
- Provide consistent coaching and performance feedback to finance leadership.
- Lead and support a geographically distributed and remote finance team effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
- 5–10+ years of progressive experience in mid-to-senior finance or accounting roles.
- Experience in both unionized and non-union environments preferred.
- Background in manufacturing or food production is a strong advantage.
