Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and operationally grounded Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Americas to lead finance for our Regional Operations Centers (ROC) across the United States, Canada, and Latin America, with direct alignment to Technical Operations in Latin America.
This role is designed for a hands-on, commercially minded finance executive with deep experience in the energy, refining, petrochemical, or technical services sectors. The CFO will serve as a key member of the regional leadership team, driving financial performance, supporting operational execution, and partnering closely with engineering, project, and technical operations leadership.
The position combines strategic finance leadership with operational integration, including oversight of finance, procurement, and IT, within a complex, multi-entity international structure.
Key Responsibilities
Regional Financial Leadership
- Lead all financial activities across the ROC Americas and Canada, including U.S., Canada, and Latin America legal entities
- Own the annual business plan, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
- Provide clear visibility into financial performance, KPIs, and operational drivers
- Deliver actionable variance analysis tied to project execution, margins, and cost structures
Technical Operations Partnership (Latin America)
- Act as the primary finance partner to Technical Operations LATAM, supporting:
- Project execution and service delivery
- Cost control and margin optimization
- Contract and commercial decision-making
- Drive financial discipline across engineering, licensing, and field service operations
- Support evaluation of capital projects, turnaround activities, and technical service contracts
Strategic & Commercial Finance
- Partner with executive leadership to shape regional growth strategy and market positioning
- Provide financial insight on commercial negotiations, pricing models, and contract structures
- Support expansion across refining, petrochemical, and licensing/service offerings
Shared Services Oversight
- Lead and integrate Finance, Procurement, and IT functions across the region
- Ensure alignment of ERP systems (SAP or similar), reporting structures, and internal controls
- Drive efficiencies across regional shared services and operational support functions
Governance, Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP / IFRS (as applicable), tax regulations, and statutory requirements across jurisdictions
- Maintain strong relationships with external auditors, banking partners, and corporate stakeholders
- Implement and monitor robust internal controls, cost management frameworks, and financial governance
QHSE & Operational Excellence
- Champion adherence to Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards
- Support compliance with:
- ISO 9001 (Quality Management)
- ISO 45001 (Health & Safety)
- Align financial decision-making with sustainability and operational risk management priorities
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required
- MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred
- CPA strongly preferred
Experience
- 12+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including:
- Energy, refining, petrochemical, EPC, or technical services sectors
- Proven experience supporting technical operations, engineering, or project-based environments
- Demonstrated leadership across multi-country / LATAM operations
- Experience overseeing or partnering with procurement and IT functions
- Background in complex ERP environments (SAP strongly preferred)
