POSITION SUMMARY:
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing all financial functions of the organization, including financial planning and analysis, accounting, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, risk management, and compliance. This role ensures the company’s financial health and long-term sustainability by providing strategic financial leadership, accurate reporting, and sound financial governance.
The CFO serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, partnering closely with the C-Suite executives, Founder, board members, and senior leaders to support business strategy, operational decision-making, and growth initiatives. This position requires strong financial acumen, strategic vision, and the ability to lead and influence across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide strategic financial leadership and guidance to the CEO and executive team to support short- and long-term business objectives.
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, treasury, tax, audit, and compliance activities.
- Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and analyses to support business planning, investment decisions, and performance management.
- Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements and management reporting.
- Establish, monitor, and enforce financial policies, procedures, internal controls, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Partner with business leaders to evaluate financial implications of strategic initiatives, operational changes, and growth opportunities.
- Communicate financial performance, risks, and opportunities clearly to executive leadership, the Board, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead annual budgeting and long-range planning processes, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, capital expenditures, and banking relationships to ensure financial stability.
- Oversee audits, tax filings, insurance programs, and risk management activities.
- Develop and monitor key financial metrics and KPIs, providing regular reporting and insights to management.
- Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments including Sales, Operations, Product, Human Resources, and IT to support organizational effectiveness.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership, direction, and development for the Finance and Accounting teams.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree (MBA) and/or CPA, CMA, or similar professional certification preferred.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Demonstrated experience in a senior financial leadership role with responsibility for enterprise-wide financial management.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- High level of integrity, sound judgment, and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Process-oriented mindset with a focus on operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Primarily a sedentary role requiring extended periods of sitting.
- Extensive computer usage requiring basic motor skills and manual dexterity.
- Occasional standing, walking, reaching, kneeling, and crouching.
