We are conducting a confidential search for a senior finance executive to join an established North American organization in the manufacturing and consumer products sector.
The company is focused on strengthening its financial reporting, enhancing internal controls, and supporting ongoing operational and strategic initiatives. The organization operates within a structured financial reporting environment, requiring a high standard of financial governance, compliance, and audit readiness.
This role will play a key leadership position in advancing these priorities.
Role Description
The Chief Financial Officer will be a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing the organization’s overall financial strategy and operations. This role will work closely with executive leadership to support strategic planning, decision-making, and long-term business objectives.
The successful candidate will provide financial leadership across the organization, including the development and implementation of financial processes, systems, and controls to support operational effectiveness and organizational sustainability.
This role will contribute to business planning activities, including supporting the development of financial models, forecasts, and strategic initiatives. The CFO will lead the budgeting process, monitor financial performance, and ensure alignment between financial objectives and operational priorities.
The CFO will establish and maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, advisors, financial institutions, and other partners, to support ongoing reporting requirements and future business initiatives.
This position will also support corporate development and stakeholder communications by contributing to financial materials, analysis, and presentations as required.
The CFO will provide ongoing financial insight to leadership, including identifying opportunities to improve performance, manage risk, and enhance cost efficiency, while ensuring that financial risks are appropriately monitored and communicated.
The role includes oversight of the finance function, including leadership of the finance team, fostering a collaborative and accountable team environment, and ensuring effective cross-functional support across the organization.
The CFO will be responsible for establishing and maintaining appropriate financial controls, accounting policies, and reporting processes to ensure accurate, timely, and transparent financial reporting. This includes supporting periodic financial reporting and coordinating external audit activities in accordance with applicable standards and requirements.
The CFO will also oversee financial systems and data integrity, including ensuring that financial information is accurately captured, analyzed, and reported to support informed decision-making.
The role may also support additional business initiatives and projects as required.
Qualifications
Required:
- CPA designation (required – applications without this will not be considered)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including senior leadership roles
- Proven experience overseeing financial reporting, external audits, and regulatory compliance
- Strong understanding of financial controls, reporting standards, and corporate governance frameworks
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning functions
- Experience developing and executing financial strategies in a business environment
- Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to collaborate effectively with executive teams and stakeholders
- Experience working within organizations with formal financial reporting and compliance obligations
Preferred:
- Experience in manufacturing, consumer products, or related industries (food/health sector experience is an asset)
- Experience operating in a hands-on, fast-paced, and evolving environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
