We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our team on a contract basis for a client on the west side of Indianapolis. In this role, you will lead the financial strategy, oversee critical accounting operations, and ensure the organization's fiscal health aligns with its long-term goals. This position is ideal for an experienced finance specialist with a strong background in construction or contracting industries.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement financial strategies to align with the organization’s business goals and objectives.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes to ensure effective resource allocation.
• Monitor financial performance against plans and provide actionable recommendations to address variances.
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls and financial governance practices.
• Create and manage dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and report on organizational performance.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, including performance reviews and ongoing development.
• Assess and advise on the financial implications of contracts, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance financial awareness and improve decision-making processes.
• Represent the organization in financial meetings, offering insights and recommendations to the executive team.
• Proven experience as a Chief Financial Officer or Controller, preferably in the construction or contracting industry.
• Expertise in cash flow analysis, capital management, and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of month-end closing processes and business systems.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage financial models, forecasts, and performance metrics.
• Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring accounting teams.
• Proficiency in analyzing complex financial data and presenting clear, actionable insights.
• Solid understanding of internal controls, compliance requirements, and audit processes.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
