About the Company
At Cirql, we don't focus on industry specifics - our core specialisation is partnering with middle-market organisations that are experiencing change. This client is the perfect example of that, an established Australian health services business with a significant footprint, dedicated to delivering complex programs and contracts across our country. With an established and diverse workforce, the organisation has navigated a period of transition, growth and change and is now focusing on a strategy of long-term sustainability.
Following a period of sector-wide evolution, the organisation is entering a new chapter focused on maintaining corporate capability and refining internal structures and processes. They are currently seeking a sophisticated leader to ensure the finance function remains a trusted, pragmatic partner to the broader operational arms of the business.
About the Opportunity
This is a pivotal six-month interim engagement for a seasoned finance executive to provide stable leadership during a period of internal change. Reporting directly to the Executive Leadership and the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee, you will act as a primary advisor, ensuring financial integrity and operational continuity.
This is more than a caretaker opportunity. You will lead a diverse and established finance team, working closely with other corporate leaders across technology and HR to optimise ways of working. A key component of this position involves sponsoring a crucial business system implementation to streamline reporting and reduce administrative friction across the group.
What You’ll Do
As a key member of the leadership team, you will hold accountability for commercial finance, accounting, transactional, and strategic project functions. Your focus will involve:
- Delivering actionable, data-driven insights to the executive team and the Board to support informed decision-making.
- Finalising the implementation of a new financial system designed to enhance reporting efficiency.
- Managing and mentoring a medium, multi-disciplinary team, fostering a culture of openness and improvement.
- Overseeing budgeting and financial planning processes to ensure alignment with the long-term strategic plan.
- Identifying and mitigating financial risks across a complex service delivery model.
- Partnering with cross-functional leaders on enterprise-wide projects to enhance corporate support services.
What You’ll Bring
We are seeking a calm, commercially astute, and people-centric leader who thrives in dynamic environments. You are a pragmatic operator with a proven ability to balance rigorous financial discipline with the empathy required to lead teams through change. In addition, you will bring:
- A tertiary degree in Finance or Commerce, coupled with CA/CPA accreditation.
- A proven track record in a CFO or Finance Director role, ideally within complex, multi-site services environments.
- Extensive experience managing teams across commercial finance and payroll, with a natural drive to develop talent.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale system implementations and driving process standardisation.
- Exceptional communication skills and the maturity to engage effectively with Boards and diverse stakeholders.
- A proactive, "hands-on" approach to problem-solving and the ability to take ownership of projects.
