We are looking for an experienced financial executive to provide hands-on leadership for a manufacturing organization in Baltimore, Maryland. This Contract position will focus on bringing stability to the accounting function, strengthening financial oversight, and guiding the team through a critical period of transition. The selected consultant will work closely with accounting and finance staff to improve close processes, support revenue accounting accuracy, and deliver high-visibility leadership across the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the month-end close process and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting across the business.
• Oversee deferred revenue accounting activities and maintain compliance with internal and external reporting standards.
• Provide day-to-day leadership to accounting personnel, offering direction, support, and accountability across the team.
• Partner with finance and operational stakeholders to improve cash flow visibility and support sound capital management decisions.
• Assist with accounting alignment related to the field services platform implementation, including accurate mapping into Sage Intacct.
• Review existing financial processes, identify control gaps, and introduce practical improvements that increase reliability and efficiency.
• Support senior leadership with financial analysis, issue resolution, and recommendations during an interim period of change.
• Collaborate with billing and collections functions to strengthen coordination between operational activity and accounting outcomes.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting leadership roles, including senior-level oversight responsibilities.
• Demonstrated success managing month-end close activities in a complex business environment.
• Strong knowledge of deferred revenue accounting and related financial reporting considerations.
• Hands-on experience using Sage Intacct within an accounting or finance function.
• Solid background in cash flow analysis and capital management.
• Proven ability to lead accounting teams, set priorities, and maintain performance in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across finance, operations, and executive leadership.
