Kontek Systems is hiring a Director, Business Operations, to oversee internal performance and business coordination. Reporting to the President and managing a team of three (Procurement Manager, Senior Accountant, and Office Manager), this role owns financial visibility and discipline, an operating cadence, and cross-functional execution, enabling leadership to stay focused on growth and strategy.
This is a hands-on operator role for someone comfortable working across functions in a fast-moving environment, using financial data to understand the business, build structure where it’s missing, and develop a team along the way.
What You'll Own
- Partner with accounting and the President on budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting; use financial data to drive operating decisions
- Maintain visibility into cash flow, margin, inventory, and key cost drivers; surface anomalies before they become issues
- Oversee reconciliation and controls across procurement, inventory, and the general ledger
- Lead, develop, and coach a team of three across procurement, accounting, and office operations
- Run the operating cadence: leadership meetings, KPI reviews, and accountability tracking
- Serve as the internal owner of employee experience
- Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations
- Manage non-project vendor relationships, contracts, and the relationship with our outsourced HR partner
- Coordinate ESOP administration with external advisors
- Serve as Board Secretary; prepare board materials and maintain corporate governance
What We're Looking For
- 7–12+ years in business operations, FP&A, or finance, with team leadership experience
- Strong financial fluency, including experience using financial data to drive business decisions in an operating environment (not just reporting)
- Experience where physical inventory, project costs, and the GL had to reconcile (manufacturing, integration, distribution, construction, or similar)
- Experience operating in or supporting a company in the $10M–$20M revenue range, with an understanding of the structure, pace, and constraints of this stage of growth
- Track record of bringing structure to ambiguous, fast-moving environments
- Comfortable managing functional specialists and holding outsourced partners accountable
What Success Looks Like
- Leadership has clear, timely visibility into financial and operational performance
- Procurement, inventory, and accounting reconcile cleanly; issues are caught early
- Priorities move forward
- The team operates with structure, accountability, and fewer bottlenecks
- Vendor and HR partner relationships are well-managed and cost-effective
- ESOP administration runs on schedule with no surprises
Salary: $120,000-$150,000,year
